Louisville -- Councilman Brent Ackerson will be hosting a Town Hall meeting for the people of District 26 Saturday, August 18th. The Town Hall will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 am at Saint Barnabas Catholic Church, 3042 Hikes Lane.
“This is an opportunity to talk with me and other agencies of Metro Government about and issue or concern in either the district or Metro Louisville,” says Ackerson.
The Councilman has invited Lori Hatton, of Mayor Fischer’s office, to deliver a presentation on Boards and Commissions. He has also invited representatives of Louisville Metro Police, MSD, IPL and other agencies of Metro Government.
“In the last two years, the Metro Council has made a special effort to encourage all citizens who have an interest to get involved with various Boards and Commissions if they have an interest,” says Ackerson. “It is my hope this meeting will give people a sense of how to apply and get started.”
Ackerson will give opening remarks for the Town Hall and then introduce Hatton for a presentation on Boards and Commissions. The meeting will then break up so constituents can work with agency representatives one-on-one.
“So I encourage residents of the District to come out, we need to hear from you on issues of concern,:” says Ackerson.
