For Immediate release:
The Fairdale Community School is kicking off two classes at night for the community that will improve your dancing and computer skills.
“I want to encourage everyone to come and check out these two classes,” says Councilwoman Vicki Aubrey Welch (D) 13. “They will get a chance to see what an asset this school has become for the community.”
Beginning on Tuesday night April 24th, the Fairdale Community School will offer line dancing lessons from 6:00 pm to 7:30pm. The class is open to everyone and will run for seven weeks. Children under the age of 12 will need to be accompanied by an adult. The cost is free.
Beginning on Thursday, May 10th, the school will offer a beginning computer class. The program is designed to acquaint beginners with basic programs and how to navigate the internet. The class consists of anywhere from 10 to 12 people and reservations for a spot are needed.
The computer class runs from 5:30pm to 7:30pm for five weeks. It is also free.
“These two classes are just the beginning of a summer’s worth of programs that the Fairdale Community School is offering to educate and entertain our residents,” says Welch.
The Fairdale Community School is located at 1001 Fairdale Road. For more information about either of the two classes call the program coordinator, Kathy Blevins, at 485-8866.
