For Immediate release:
Metro Councilwoman Mary C. Woolridge (D) 3 will continue a special partnership on Saturday, March 31st when she once again joins with the 4th Annual Prince Hall Health Fair & College Seminar.
“This is a unique event,” says Woolridge. “For some, we are watching out for your health and for others we can answer questions about college.”
The “We” in this case are the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Kentucky, The Louisville Urban League, Councilman David Tandy (D) 4, Cheri Bryant Hamilton (D) 5 and Woolridge. The Council members provided Neighborhood Development Funds for the event.
The Health Fair & College seminar is a chance to take advantage of free health screenings for high blood pressure, vision, hearing, diabetes, breast cancer, dental and HIV.
“If you have questions about a health concern, we have the experts that can answer it,” says Woolridge. “If you are in high school and would like information about college, we can answer those questions too.”
Representatives from area colleges and universities will be on hand to answer questions for high school students and persons interested in attending college.
The Prince Hall Health Fair & College Seminar will be held at the Grand Lodge Central District located at 1304 South 28th Street. The event will begin at 10:00 am and run until 3:00pm. It is free to the public.
There will also be a Student Health Living Art Contest that will cover drawing, painting and print. An Excellence in Civic Leadership (EXCEL) Award will be given beginning at 12:00pm.
