Councilwoman Woolridge announces District 3 Fall Festival is set for Saturday, September 7th

Louisville – Councilwoman Mary C. Woolridge announces a special day of fun and entertainment when the District 3 Fall Festival gets underway on Saturday, September 7th. The Fall Festival runs from 11:00am to 8:00pm at Algonquin Park. The park is located at 1614 Cypress.

“We have many great things planned for the whole community. This Fall Festival is a way to bring the community together for a day of fun,” says Woolridge. “Come out for celebrity sightings during the day such as Jeremy Kelly, Professional Basketball player, NBA-D League and numerous overseas teams. He will be on site signing autographs.”

The event focuses around three areas: a Health Fair, Community Talent Showcase and a closing Evening Concert.

From11:00am to 1:00pm: Health Fair offers Free blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol screenings, Medicaid fraud information and chiropractic adjustments.

The will also be Hula Hoop fitness demonstrations, information about smoking cessation and many vendors providing additional healthy living information.

12:00pm to 4:00pm: The Community Talent Showcase offers entertainment sure to please both young and old. A wide range of music will be featured including Gospel, Motown, R&B, Jazz, and Opera. Rappers, Mime and dance teams will also be on stage. The magnificent River City Drum Corp will open the Showcase with High-Stepping & Drumming.

· The Twinz-Clyde and Clarence Hill,

· The Young Diamonds and Soul Jet dance teams,

· Second Chance-Motown hits,

· Alysha Ashley & Band (Neo-Soul/Jazz/Gospel),

· Living Faith Praise & Mime teams,

· Gregory Rahming-Opera,

· Jordan Kelly and Dwayne Sutton-Rappers,

· Coria Bowen- Gospel

· De’Eric Williams & Montrey “Deuce Deal-Gospel Rap.

6:00pm to 8:00pm: The Festival closes out the day with a concert from with the well-known Unlimited Band. This group is back-by-popular demand after appearing in the 2012 District 3 summer concert series.

“We are fortunate to have so many talented people and groups in our area and I hope everyone will come out to our Fall Festival and spend the day with us,” says Woolridge. “We have something for everyone.”

Bring a lawn chair and a water bottle to get free water from the Louisville Water Company Bubbler. First Choice Market will provide free hot dogs at 12:30pm to the first 100 festival-goers so come early.
