Councilman Tandy to join Governor in announcing new economic development initiative

Louisville – Councilman David Tandy (D) 4 will join Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher and local businessman Charlie Johnson to announce new partners in program focusing on employment and economic development.

On Monday, December 18th Tandy and the Governor will hold a news conference to announce the Driving for Inner City Development. The news conference will be at 1903 Cedar Street.

The DID initiative is a new truck driver training program created by C.W. Johnson Xpress. Other participating in the news conference include representatives from Jefferson Community & Technical College, United parcel Service, Peterson truck Leasing and the Ministerial Coalition for Inner-City Churches.

The location of the news conference is significant because it is at the new residence of DID’s first two graduates.

The news conference will get underway at 10:00am
