Louisville - The Metro Council’s Ad Hoc Committee on Vacant Properties is once again going out into the community to hear from groups and organizations working on the issue of vacant properties in Metro Louisville.

At its next meeting on Tuesday, February 11th at 3:00pm at the Catholic Enrichment Center, 3146 W Broadway, the Committee will invite groups to make a 2 to 3 minute presentations about how they are addressing the problem. Of special interest are groups with small budgets.

"As the Chair of the Vacant Properties Committee, I know the value of holding our February meeting in a neighborhood so that we can hear from some of the groups and organizations that are addressing the abandoned and vacant properties issue in our city,” says Councilwoman Attica Scott (D-1).

If your group or organization has ideas to share related to abandoned and vacant properties or would like to highlight your already-existing work on this topic, email donna.sanders@louisvilleky.gov or call the District 1 office at 574-1101 to sign up for the annual Vacant Properties Committee Shout/Out to groups addressing the vacant properties issue in Louisville.

“Meetings such as these are invaluable,” says Scott. “We are looking forward to hearing from folks who have a mission or services that can help us eliminate the problem of vacant and abandoned properties.”

Metro TV will be on hand to tape and later rebroadcast the meeting. It will also be available on line for those interested.
