Louisville – Metro Councilwoman Madonna Flood (D) 24 has announced Andrea Crider Derouen is joining her staff as a legislative assistant.

“I want all the residents of District 24 to get to know Andrea as someone who can help with their concerns,” says Flood. “I am fortunate to have someone of her experience to work for our district.”

Derouen is currently working with Metro Government as MetroSolutions Coordinator. She has also had extensive experience working with the Kentucky Labor Cabinet prior to working with Metro Government.

“I am thrilled to be working with Councilwoman Flood,” says Derouen. “As a resident of Okolona, I have been very impressed with her care and concern for the people of the 24th District.  I am very excited to be helping her continue her work.”

She will be replacing Pat Zimmerman who after four years of service to Councilwoman Flood will be retiring at the end of January, 2007. Zimmerman previously worked for Jefferson County Commissioner Delores Delahanty. She also had experience in real estate both in Kentucky and Florida.

Derouen is a 1980 graduate of Pleasure Ridge Park High School and a member of the PRP Alumni Association. She is a 1984 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. She has been a member of Flood’s District 24 Committee since 2002.

She and her husband Jeff live in Okolona. The couple has two children.
