Louisville – Central Park is one of Old Louisville’s nicest attractions for young and old alike. On Saturday, volunteers will get the park ready for spring and summer as part of the Community wide Brightside Cleanup beginning at 9:00am.

“This is our contribution to the Mayor’s Give – A – Day of Service. I encourage everyone in Old Louisville to come out and help us,” says Councilman David James (D-6).

Volunteers will meet at the Old Louisville Information Center and then fan out through Central Park cleaning up trash and garbage.

Brightside will provide bags, rakes and gloves. However, if you can bring any extra tools to help out it would be appreciated. Following the cleanup lunch will be provided.

“While Central Park is just one project, I know there are many groups who will spend time to make their neighborhoods a nicer, cleaner place to live,” says James. “If you can, take a few hours on Saturday to find a group of volunteers in your neighborhood. Giving back to your Community is what the Mayor’s Give – A – Day of Service is all about.”
