Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh, the United Crescent Hill Ministries and the Volunteers Income Tax Assistance program are partnering for a series of three special mobile clinics on Friday’s in District 9.
“In an effort to reach as many seniors citizens and low income families as we can, the VITA program will be available on three Fridays in February and March for those who qualify in our area,” said Ward-Pugh.
Three VITA events will be held at the United Crescent Hill Ministries (UCHM), 150 S. State Street on the following Fridays; February 18th, March 4th and March 18th from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Volunteers will provide FREE tax service for those persons who make under $49,000 per year.
“Those of us who are working with VITA this year know there are millions of dollars that are still out there in earned income tax credits that some families may not even know about,” says Ward-Pugh. “These special Friday sessions are just another way to reach those who may need help filing their taxes. Regardless of where you live and if you can’t make any of the three dates I encourage everyone to go to one of the VITA Centers throughout Metro Louisville to get help in filing your 2010 taxes.”
The Friday FREE tax preparation will be offered by appointment only – please contact Councilwoman Ward-Pugh’s office at 574-1109 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment.
