Councilwoman Barbara Shanklin (D-2) and residents of Newburg and Norfolk will play host to the Mayor’s Community Conversation on Monday, May 18th.

“I want to thank the Mayor for bringing Metro Government to our area,” says Shanklin. “This is a chance for everyone to come out and let me, the Mayor or other members of the Metro Council know what is on your mind or if there is something that you think we need to know about.”

The Mayor’s Community Conversation will be held at Newburg Middle School gym, 4901 Exeter Avenue 6:30pm.

Joining Shanklin at the event will be Council members Jim King (D-10), And Brent Ackerson (D-26)

Representatives of every agency of Metro Government will be at the event to answer any question or concern. Officials with the Jefferson County Public schools will also be in attendance as well as Insight Communications and Congressman John Yarmuth’s office.

“I hope anyone who comes to the Community Conversation takes notice of how much progress is being made on the new Newburg Library,” says Shanklin. “The Library is just one of many things we can talk about at the school.”
