To help residents of District 1 affected by flooding, Councilwoman Judith Green will host two Community meetings in District 1 to provide information on federal assistance.
“We know many people have been devastated by what happened with the flash flooding,” says Green. “So as the cleanup continues, I have invited officials with FEMA and the SBA to both meetings to come and meet with the people of District 1 who may need the federal government’s help.”.
Green will host two meetings next week in an effort to get information out about financial assistance and resources that can help during the cleanup.
Here are the times and locations of the meetings:
Monday, August 24th
The NIA Center, 2900 West Broadway
6:30pm to 8:00pm.
Tuesday, August 25th
Lake Dreamland Fire Department
4603 Cane Run Road
6:30pm to 8:00pm.
Speakers at both meetings will include representatives of the Federal Emergency Management Administration and the Small Business Administration. To answer questions about cleaning up houses after flooding, representatives of the Metro Public Health and Wellness Department and the Metro United Way will be available. The United Way will be giving out cleaning supplies.
“I want to encourage anyone who has had flood damage to come to either rof these two meetings,” says Green. “This is a time to help people get back on their feet and to assist in getting their homes and businesses back up and running.”
