District 3 Councilwoman Mary C. Woolridge will attend the ribbon cutting ceremony and open house for the Shively Community Building, 3901 Park Drive, at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, October 12.

Councilwoman Woolridge was instrumental in securing $15,000 for new furnishings for the building in the 2003/ 2004 Louisville/Jefferson County Metro budget. This grant was accepted by the Shively City Council and Mayor Jim Jenkins.

"Shively remained a small city with its own mayor and city council after merger," Councilwoman Woolridge said. "Although most of Shively is in District 3, concerns and questions about services must be addressed by the Shively mayor and council members." Councilwoman Woolridge said the contribution to the City of Shively is one of the few ways she is able to enrich the lives of its citizens.
