Efforts to locate two liquor stores in District 5 and talk of a wet dry vote will be the main focus of Councilwoman Cheri Bryant-Hamilton’s District 5 Community meeting on Tuesday, March 20th.
“This will be an opportunity for everyone in the district to find out the latest information and concerns about two liquor stores attempting to locate along Market Street,” says Hamilton. “There are many people who are concerned and I want to make sure everyone knows where we stand with this kind of economic development.”
The Community meeting will begin at 6:30pm. It will be held at the Shawnee Golf Course Clubhouse, 460 Northwestern Parkway.
Also, as part of this quarterly held community meeting, there will be a discussion on the most recent attempt to have a wet-dry vote for the areas involved.
“Some may not be aware of what all is involved in trying to eliminate alcohol sales through a vote,” says Hamilton. “We will be updating the community with the latest information on the issue.”
The meeting will also discuss the Spring Clean-Up to be held district-wide on Saturday, March 31st . Metro Police will also be on hand to discuss the latest in Derby Cruising and traffic control.
