On May 11, 2009, Office For Women held a Women's Health Fair to kick-off National Women's Health Week and a week of events in Louisville focusing on women's health.  Norton Cancer Institute partnered with OFW to provide their mobile mammography unit for one day at each of the five sites.

The Office For Women is Advocacy and Public Policy office within Louisville Metro Department of Housing and Family Services.  

Norton Cancer Institute's mobile unit provided services to women during the kick-off. Inside at the health fair, Norton institutes and resources centers provided information at several resource tables.



Yoga demonstrations by Yoga on Baxter and Infinite Bliss Yoga were crowd pleasers.
Some raffle winners received Yoga door prizes.

Lynn Fralick received her prize: a Cabot Creamery Fitness Pack from OFW intern, Margaret Cox while Health Fair visitors were treated Cabot Creamery's cheese snacks kept cool in their chiller.

After her opening remarks, Jackie Hays of WAVE-3 TV visited the resource tables.
 
Louisville Water Company provided water bottles; ValuMarket donated bottles of water.  Coffee Affair and Sweet Tooths contributions were paced in the presentation room.

Special guest Jackie Hays of WAVE3-TV gave the opening remarks.  On behalf of Mayor Abramson, Shannon Tivitt presented a proclamation to Tina Lentz, OFW director.
Councilwoman Vickie Aubrey Welch, District 13, addressed attendees.
Teena Halbig, President League of Women Voters of KY and LWV
of Louisville spoke to women about health issues.

One of the lucky raffle winners, Michele Bright, received an Absolute Skin Care & Spa's gift certificate.

Physical Therapy Group, Inc. was one of the providers offering  tips and exams to visitors.

Screening for skin sun damage were provided by KCP.

Classical Acupuncture & Herbs
 
was among the providers answering women's questions.

Linda Chatmon joined employees taking a lunch break at the health fair. 

Dr. Troutman, Director of Louisville Metro Public Health & Wellness Department, joined visitors at the resource tables.
