Finance 4 Her Coach Network
The Finance 4 Her Coach Network is designed to arrange creative, unique partnerships between two individuals. One person serves in a coaching role to guide, encourage and connect participants to financial education resources. Strong relationships are the key to success!
The Problem
More than 70 percent of the households in poverty in Louisville are headed by women. And women in Louisville typically earn 72 cents for every $1 men earn. Improving the stability, health and education of women requires financial security.
The Solution
The Finance 4 Her Coach Network supports a woman who has completed the Finance 4 Her Financial Education Workshop series that teaches basic money management -- budgeting, saving, and planning ahead. The Coach Network works with the participants personal needs, and helps them develop and use a financial plan. Women 4 Women pairs them with volunteer financial coaches who meet with them regularly to keep them motivated and on track and working their plan.
Finance 4 Her volunteer coaches meet with participants once a month in a group and talk with them once a month by phone or one-on-one. Their time commitment is about four hours per month for five months.
