Meet the Staff

 
Tina Lentz was appointed as Director of the Office for Women by Mayor Abramson in October 2006 after serving 9 years in the Department of Human Services in strategic planning and research.

Tina has a Masters Degree in Justice Administration from the University of Louisville where she received an award from the Southern Criminal Justice Association for her work on Intimate Homicides. She served as victim advocate in the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s on the Office Domestic Violence and Child Sexual Abuse Unit. Currently, Tina is active on the Board of Directors for Women 4 Women; the Mayor’s Domestic Violence Prevention Coordinating Council, and the MensWork Advisory Board.

Chris Owens has been with the Office For Women since March 2005.

Her duties now include Community Outreach, Communication, and overseeing the Safe Havens (Louisville Visitation & Exchange Center) program. Over the past two years she has worked to better connect women in Louisville Metro through Louisville Women’s Listserv and the OFW web pages.

Chris has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Leadership, Secondary Education, and plans to complete a Master of Arts in Media Communication Management this year.

Beth Irvin joined the Office for Women November 19, 2007 as an AmeriCorps member. She will be with the OFW through August 2008. Beth will be starting a as Public Administration graduate student in spring of 2009. Beth’s focus is on Community Outreach and Volunteer Recruitment.

To date, she has developed a list of volunteers and has collaborated with the NorthEast YMCA on the Girls in Sports event for February 23rd. She’s working to engage the community in a variety of other up-coming events which will be featured in the next Newsletter, on the OFW web page, and on the Louisville Women’s Listerv.
