Louisville was recently named one of America’s “100 Best Communities for Young People” for the third time by America’s Promise – Youth Alliance. This honor speaks volumes about the dedication and hard work of people in our community who are giving Louisville’s youth the tools they need to achieve higher education and prepare for better jobs.
As a way of saying “thanks” to these individuals, our Office for Youth Development created the Mayor’s Youth Service Worker Awards in 1998 to recognize individuals who go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of our young people.
I hope you will nominate someone for this honor and join us for the awards ceremony, Tuesday, April 1, 2008, 7 to 9 p.m., at Memorial Auditorium, 970 South Fourth Street.
Let’s celebrate the accomplishments of these individuals who do so much to help our young people – and our community – achieve and succeed!
Sincerely,
Jerry E. Abramson
Mayor
