Homeless Shelter Task Force

The primary objective of the task force was to develop a specific proposal to amend the Land Development Code to address land use regulations for homeless shelters.

The task force was assembled by the Planning Commission to consider the gap in the Land Development Code regarding homeless shelters.

The task force has drafted a recommendation on how homeless shelters should be addressed in the Land Development Code. The Planning Committee reviewed the proposal and forwarded it to the full Planning Commission for a public hearing on September 30, 2010, when the Planning Commission recommended that legislative bodies with zoning authority approve Land Development Code amendments regarding homeless shelters.
