1. The Land Development & Transportation Committee (LD&T) or Development Review Committee (DRC) reviews your plan at a public meeting. Once a date is set for the LD&T/DRC meeting, you are required to send public notification to adjoining property owners by mail. Neighbors must be sent notification 14 days prior to the meeting. Click here for additional information on public notices. Once you have mailed the public notices, you will need to fill out and submit an affidavit of notification. Those signed up with our neighborhood notification program will also be notified by email.
2. The Case Manager prepares a staff report 6 days prior to the meeting. The staff report and agenda are provided in advance to LD&T/DRC committee members for their review, and are usually posted the Friday before the following week's meeting here.
3. The LD&T/DRC meeting is held. LD&T meetings are typically held on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at 1:00 p.m. in the Old Jail Building located at 514 W. Liberty Street. DRC meetings are typically held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at 1:00 p.m. at the same location. Often, there are multiple cases on the agenda to be reviewed. You won't need to make a formal presentation; however, you are free to bring pictures or other supporting materials to help make your case.
4. At the close of the LD&T/DRC meeting, the committee votes to approve or deny the proposal. The final action is based on your presentation at the Hearing, public testimony, and the staff report.
5. At the following LD&T/DRC meeting (usually two weeks later), the Minutes from your meeting are approved. Once this happens, the file is transmitted to you and to proper agencies for their use.
