Our Mission
The Department of Public Works and Assets is fully committed to providing the highest quality of public services and enhancing the quality of life for all Louisville Metro citizens.  The Department will effectively and efficiently maintain Metro's infrastructure; improve roadway systems; support progressive environmental initiatives; deliver superior external and internal customer service and tirelessly explore innovative processes that allow us to more efficiently serve the public.

What We Do...

  • Road construction and maintenance
  • Manage Metro Government capital building construction/renovation projects
  • Transportation Planning
  • Manage Metro Government owned properties for sale or lease.
  • Snow Removal on 3,047 lane miles
  • Maintain Metro Government's 2,600 vehicles and 4,000 equipment items
  • Maintain 200 Metro owned facilities with a combined square footage of over 3 million
  • Manage Solid Waste removal and recycling
  • Operate and maintain 647 Traffic Signals

serves the Louisville Jefferson County Metro community in oversight of roadway operations and maintenance of streets, roads, bridges, drainage systems and snow removal.


FLEET SERVICES

Matthew Maskey
Serves Louisville Jefferson County Metro community in maintaining all Government vehicles.


FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

Mark Zoeller
Serves Louisville Jefferson County Metro community in maintaining all Government buildings and other facilities.


PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Serves Louisville Jefferson County Metro community in oversight of capitial building construction and renovation.


PROPERTY AND LEASING

Judy Hettich Mitchell
Leads the team that provides a full range of professional asset management and real estate services to Metro agencies, in the leasing, purchase, and disposal of real estate.


SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT SERVICES

Keith Hackett
Serves Louisville Jefferson County Metro  community by overseeing the pickup and removal of Solid Waste and other related programs such as recycling.


ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES

Ben Tipton
Serves the Louisville Jefferson County Metro community in maintaining budgetary planning, policy and program planning, as well as personnel and departmental records management.
