Short Project Description
The Cooper Chapel Road Section III Project will extend the roadway approximately 3 miles, from Beulah Church Rd to Bardstown Rd. It will include a Multi-use path, sidewalks and bike lanes. The long-range projection for road opening is 2020.
Provided is a Comment and Response Spreadsheet developed from comments received during the open period following the Cooper Chapel Road Section III Public Hearing, held on Tuesday, October 12, 2010.
All comments are shown as they were provided to the Project Development Team (PDT), with names and addresses removed to protect all persons involved in the commenting process. The PDT is made up of engineering & environmental staff from Louisville Metro Government, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and HDR Consulting Engineers.
Public Comments, inclusive of identifying information, can be requested via Open Records Request, submitted to the Department of Administrative Services, Transportation Cabinet Office Building, 200 Mero Street, Frankfort, KY 40622.
Public Hearing Comments and Responses
The remaining schedule for the Phase I Design Process includes the following:
- Select a Preferred Alignment (February 2011)
- Preferred Alignment - The Project Design Team recommends a combination of the Blue & Red Alignments. The Blue Alignment, from Beulah Church Road to approximately Cedar Creek Road, and the Red Alignment from approximately Cedar Creek Road to Bardstown Road.
- Complete the Archeology Report & Final Environmental Document to send to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for Approval to proceed with Phase II Design. (August 2011)
- The FHWA Approved Document, called the FONSI (Finding of No Significant Impact,) was approved April 5, 2012. Phase II Design Process can officially begin. Progress can be followed on this website and any inquiries can be made via the "Contact Us" link near the bottom of this page.
