Electrical Maintenance

Notice a Traffic Signal that is not working properly?  School Sign that is not flashing in your neighborhood?  A Community Alert Siren that is not sounding? (These are tested on the second Tuesday or every month at noon).

We can handle that call!

Electrical Maintenance has a dedicated staff of 29 employees that work around the clock to take care of their main priority which is the maintenance of traffic control devices.  In addition to traffic control devices Electrical Maintenance also installs and maintains a wide range of other equipment.  The following is a list of devices that Electrical Maintenance maintains:

  • 647 Traffic Signals
  • 137 Community Alert Sirens
  • 53 Special Flashers
  • 51 School Signs
  • 51 Viaduct Locations
  • 27 Overhead Signs
  • 22 Fire Signals
  • 6 Jeffersontown Signals
Along with the preceding responsibilities, Electrical Maintenance has the task of supplying electrical services for several Special Events.  The following are the most significant:

  • Thunder Over Louisville
  • Light Up Louisville
  • Kentucky Derby Festival
  • West Broadway Vendors Fair
  • Worldfest
  • Music in the Metro
  • Greek Fest
  • Baxter Avenue Festival
