Annual Spring Pothole Blitz Underway
Wednesday March 27, 2013
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 27, 2013) – Metro Public Works’ annual pothole blitz is currently underway, with six five-person crews systematically covering 2,577 miles of Metro-maintained roadways with the goal of leaving no pothole unfilled.
Winter’s snow, ice and varying temperatures left the roadways cracking and crumbling, forcing potholes to pop up in many areas.
Last year, crews filled nearly 10,620 potholes from February – April.
Public Works encourages drivers to report any potholes they see on Metro streets. Citizens can dial MetroCall 311 (574-5000), visit the MetroCall website at www.louisvilleky.gov/metrocall or use the free mobile app, Metro311 to report a location.
