This division is comprised of (5) five separate specialized divisional units. 

• Road Maintenance
• Electrical Maintenance
• Signs & Markings
• Vehicle Impoundment
• Vacant Lots

The division is responsible for many different maintenance activities such as, pavement and shoulder repairs, drainage within the right of way (outside the MSD service area), litter pick up, guardrail, regulatory and street signage, stripping, traffic signals & designated street lighting.

This unit is responsible and coordinates all Metro Louisville snow & ice removal operations utilizing other divisions and departments as partners.  Operations and Maintenance also, clear storm damage debris from roads and right of ways of down trees and flood debris after events. 

Also, the division tows vehicle in violation and removes wrecked vehicles.  Clean and mows vacant private properties in violation per ordinance as well as maintains metro owned vacant properties.
