Junk Pickup Dates for 2009 Available Online
Wednesday December 31, 2008
City will not mail reminder notices this year
Curbside junk pickup will continue in the urban services district (old city limits) in 2009, but residents must check the city website or call MetroCall to get information on their pickup dates.
Due to the city’s budget shortfall, Metro Solid Waste Management will not send out the annual pamphlets listing each neighborhood’s four designated junk pickup dates. The pamphlets, usually mailed at the end of each year, cost the city more than $20,000.
The urban service district has 11 junk collection routes. Collection will begin in the “A” region on Monday, January 5.
Residents who wish to utilize junk pickup can find their 2009 junk pick up dates by clicking here and putting their address into the MyLouisville Mapping Tool. Or call MetroCall (311 or 574-5000) for the information.
