Three Leaf Drop-off Sites Open November 6th
Metro Public Works is once again partnering with Metro Parks to provide citizens with a free leaf drop-off service. This year residents will have three locations available to dispose of leaves.

Fischer Announces Expanded Residential Recycling
Standing in the Cloverleaf neighborhood today, Mayor Greg Fischer announced a new pilot program with the goal of increasing recycling in Louisville. Two routes – about 7,500 residences – within the Urban Services District, one where the current recycling volume is moderate and one where the current recycling volume is considered low, were selected to kick off the program.

Free Junk Drop-off Event May 20th
This weekend citizens are encouraged to take advantage of the city’s free bulk waste and junk drop-off event this Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Waste Management Outer Loop Landfill, 2673 Outer Loop.

Staffed Recycling Centers/HAZ BIN Closed Derby Day
All staffed recycling centers, the Waste Reduction Center, and HAZ BIN, the hazardous materials drop-off site will be closed on Derby Day, Saturday, May 5, 2012.

Storm Debris Drop-off Jan. 28th
Citizens left with limbs, branches and other debris after this week’s tornadoes can haul their debris to Waste Management’s Outer Loop Recycling and Disposal facility, located at 2673 Outer Loop on Saturday, January 28, 2012 (a week from this Saturday) from 10a.m. – 2 p.m.. The cost is $15 per load.

No Garbage, Recycling Collection on Monday, Jan.16
A reminder to residents in the Urban Services District (old city limits) that there will be no garbage, recycling or yard waste collection on Monday, Jan 16, 2012 due to the Martin Luther King Day holiday. Service for residents with Monday collection will resume the following week, Monday, Jan. 23, 2012.
