Curbside and Drop-off Christmas Tree Recycling Available
Metro Solid Waste Management will again this year offer curbside pickup of Christmas Trees to residents of the Urban Services District (the old City of Louisville boundaries). Beginning Thursday, December 26, residents with City curbside yard waste pickup may set their Christmas trees and greenery out on their regular collection day.
Holiday Garbage, Yard Waste And Recycling Schedule
There will be no residential collection on Wednesday, December 25, 2013 or Wednesday, January 1, 2014 within the Urban Services District (former Louisville city limits). Collection will resume on Thursday and will be delayed by one day. For those who have waste and recycling collection with private companies, check with them for their holiday schedules.
Garbage, Recycling Pickup Delayed by Thanksgiving Holiday
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, there will be no residential garbage, recycling and yard waste collection in the Urban Services District on Thursday, November 28. Residents who normally have collection on that day will have service on Friday, Nov. 29. The regular Friday collection will be delayed until Saturday, Nov. 30.

Citizens will have three options for dropping off fall leaves at no cost, Mayor Greg Fischer announced today.
Protect Yourself From Identity Theft With Free Shredding Event
Citizens can protect themselves from identify theft with a free shredding event Sat., Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1032 Phillips Lane, across from the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center.
Residents are encouraged to bring personal and confidential documents they no longer need to be shredded and then recycled. There is no limit on the amount of material residents may bring. Businesses will not be allowed to participate in this event.

Citizens who have damaged household items from the record rainfall this weekend can take it to the city’s Waste Reduction Center at 636 Meriwether Ave. starting Tuesday, Oct. 8., 8 a.m.

Due to the Labor Day holiday, there will be no residential garbage, recycling and yard waste collection in the Urban Services District on Monday, September 2. Residents who normally have collection on that day will have service on Tuesday, Sept. 3. Collection will also be delayed by one day for the rest of the week following Labor Day
