Yard Waste Container Regulation 51.507R On May 6th 2014, the District passed a regulation specifying that all yard waste set out for collection be in containers meeting the requirements of L.M.C.O. Chapter 51.507, or, as an alternative, be placed in paper bags specifically designed for yard waste collection or bags meeting ASTM D6400 standards for compostability.

Full implementation of the regulation has been set at January 1st, 2015. However we encourage citizens to begin using the options outline in our FAQ click here.

Where can you find a container for yard waste that meets the standard? Almost all local hardware, home improvement, and retail outlet stores already carry reusable containers along with paper yard waste bags. We will be working with retailers over the next six months to ensure plenty of options are available.
