OFFICE PAPER RECYCLING
Businesses within the downtown area are eligible for a mixed office paper recycling program. This program provides businesses and government agencies with the opportunity to recycle mixed office paper at no charge.
In June of 2003, Metro Solid Waste Management eliminated a contractual arrangement and began collection using current personnel and equipment. Since that time, approximately 2,000 tons of paper has been collected, recycled and has produced over $86,000 in revenues.
It is based on a once-per-week collection and specially marked, 68-gallon or 32-gallon roll carts are provided. There is no charge for participation in the program.
