When brought in by an officer:
Youth's personal information is gathered for facility ID including fingerprinting and photograph.
The State Court Designated Worker (CDW) applies statewide holding criteria to determine placement or release of each youth.
The CDW determines if the youth will be released to a responsible adult/parent, moved to a non-secure group home, or placed in secure detention.
Traffic charges for youth 16 years or older are considered "adult" charges. Adult Pretrial Services determines placement according to their criteria.
All personal belongings (including shoes), except one layer of clothing, are collected from each youth.
When detained by Court:
The Judge's Court Order may place the youth on Community Based Services, or remand to Secure Detention with a pss court date.
