West Market Street Corridor Study

The West Market Street Corridor Improvement Study will look at how to create a physical environment conducive to business development and new retail opportunities for area residents.

The study area is West Market Street, from 24th Street to Cecil Avenue (extending to the alleyways north and south of Market).

The study process will provide opportunities for area residents to share their ideas and concerns and will take into consideration current developments and conditions in the corridor. Some of the recommended improvements may include streetscape improvements such as landscaping, placement of public amenities such as benches, and sidewalk improvements.

The $75,000 study is a joint project of District 5 Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton and the Louisville Metro Economic Development Department. It is scheduled to be complete by Summer 2009.
