Move Louisville

About Move Louisville
Move Louisville is a long-range strategic multi-modal transportation plan that will focus on creating greater mobility between the places where people live, work, shop and enjoy leisure time in Louisville.

Growing out of the city's 25-year plan Vision Louisville, Move Louisville will consider travel by foot, bicycle, transit, paratransit and automobile, and will be folded into both regional and statewide transportation plans.

The city received a $600,000 federal grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s 2012 Transportation, Communityand System Preservation Grant Program. The city matched the federal grant with $125,000, and partnered with the Transit Authority of River City (TARC), which contributed $25,000, to help fund the total local match for Move Louisville.

Development of the plan, which includes several opportunities for public input, began in November 2013 and will take about 10 months.

What is Move Louisville? Public meetings were held to present ideas and possibilities for what Move Louisville can achieve. Read the presentation to learn more about its vision and goals for Louisville.

Draft Project Candidate Maps
During the early October meetings, candidate project maps were presented at the Move Louisville public workshops.   These maps represent previous candidate maps and the draft evaluations against the project goals (see below).  We invite you to view the maps, the project sheets, and share comments and thoughts on the candidate projects.  There are three maps: Roads; Bicycle/Pedestrian; and Transit (to be posted soon).  Accompanying them is a list of the current projects that describes the projects, provides metric score against the goals, and rough estimate planning costs associated with the project.  An interactive map will be posted soon to facilitate review.
