Tuesday October 30, 2007
Three local businesses, including a landscaping company in Fairmont and a flea market in Shively, have been awarded small-business loans to expand their operations.
The low-interest loans, totaling $170,000, were approved last week by the Metropolitan Business Development Corporation, an agency of Louisville Metro Government.
“These businesses are investing in our city — and bringing more retail services to all parts of Louisville,” Mayor Jerry Abramson said.
Businesses receiving loans are:
- All For You LLC, 2501 Millers Lane, near Shively. A $35,000 loan will help this flea market expand into a larger space. The business was founded in 2002 by Rosa Macklin, Clarence Ellery and Stewart Martin.
- Incentives II, located downtown at 505 S. Third St. The company sells promotional products and apparel and uniforms to area business, including Norton Healthcare and the Kentucky Derby Festival. Eddie Atchley and Richard Douglass purchased the business in July 2006. A $35,000 low-interest loan will help the company expand.
- Greenscapes Lawn & Landscaping, 11309 Race Road, in the Fairmont area. A $100,000 loan will help the company build a new store/nursery that will sell plants and gardening supplies. Greenscapes is owned by Stephen Randolph, who founded the company in 2001.
