Thursday October 30, 2008
Two local businesses, including a steel fabrication company, have been awarded small-business loans from Louisville Metro Government.
The low-interest loans, totaling $175,000 were approved this week by the Metropolitan Business Development Corp.
“These small businesses are the backbone of our local economy,” Mayor Jerry Abramson said. “These loans help business to expand and therefore help grow jobs in our city.”
The approved loans were:
- Hafendorfer Machine, 550 O’Byrne Ave. A $100,000 low-interest loan will help the steel fabrication company purchase a new laser cutting machine.
- Rehab of a building at 4130 W. Broadway
. A $75,000 low-interest loan to Larry Coleman will help him purchase new windows, brick columns and improve the electrical network. When the building is complete, it will house three to four commercial tenants.
