Monday August 30, 2010
Louisville is ranked high among major U.S. cities for its potential for economic growth and low cost of living by a leading national business publication.
Business Facilities ranks Louisville as having the 7th lowest cost of living among all major cities in its “Top 10 Metro” rankings in the July/August issue. It also names Louisville as one of the top 10 major cities for “Economic Growth Potential”.
“Cities across the nation have been hit hard by a devastating economic recession, but this ranking affirms that we have been taking the right steps for Louisville to hit the ground running and grow jobs as the economy turns,” Mayor Jerry Abramson said.
Louisville also ranked as the 8th best large city in what the magazine called a new category: “Alternative Energy Industry Leaders”.
In coming up with its annual rankings, Business Facilities says: “We took great care to assess the growth potential of each location’s strategic initiatives. Our rankings don’t just tell you who has jumped off the canvas and rejoined the jobs-creation battle: these standings are leading indicators of which locations are ready to thrive in the New Economy. “
Business Facilities, which calls itself the “Location Advisor”, is a leading resource for companies planning to locate or re-locate their business.
