Four Local Businesses Receive METCO Loan

Four local businesses received loans from Louisville Metro Government, including one new restaurant on Frankfort Avenue and improvements to some historic buildings on Baxter Avenue.
A total of $335,000 in loans was approved by the Louisville Metropolitan Business Development Corporation, including:
· $100,000 loan to Cubana LLC, located at 2206 Frankfort Avenue. The loan will allow owner Mariolis Mora to create working capital for a start-up restaurant featuring moderately priced Cuban food.
· $100,000 loan to Heart & Soy LLC, located at 2240 Frankfort Avenue. The loan will allow owner Houng “Coco” Tran to open a restaurant and business that will manufacture and distribute tofu and soy products to major supermarket chains, local specialty food stores and local restaurants. The restaurant will feature a vegetarian menu.
· $25,000 loan to Holiday Manor Barbershop, Inc., located at 4943 Brownsboro Road. The loan will allow owner Catherine French to purchase owner Charles Meade’s interest in the barbershop.
· $110,000 total in loans for façade ($100,000) and accessibility improvements ($10,000) to PMR Companies, LLC, located at 325 W. Main Street, Suite 1012. The loans will allow owner Deborah Charlton to make improvements to 963-965 Baxter Avenue.
