City Holds 4th Sales Training Institute

With resounding interest in the first three institutes, the city is holding its fourth Mayor’s Sales Career Institute. The city is partnering with Sandler Training to hold the training/demonstration session for participants to learn what it takes to be a successful sales representative. The three prior sales institutes have attracted 73 participants.

The next Sales Training Institute is:

  • February 21, Memorial Auditorium, Ballroom, 970 S. 4th Street, 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. Training will be coordinated by Sandler Training.

“We have many job openings and many people in our community without a job, so it only makes sense to play matchmaker in helping job seekers and employers find each other,” Fischer said. “We are focused on being a community of lifelong learners, and whether you are ready to enter a new career field or take your career to a new level, you can find a new learning opportunity with the Sales Institute.”

The institutes will be for participants only during a 5-hour training program. Vince Esposito, with Sandler Training, will conduct the training portion of the institute from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., and sales professionals from local companies will lead mock sales role-playing activities with the participants, giving them a chance to demonstrate what they've learned, from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. These professionals also will meet one-on-one with participants to discuss career opportunities.

Employers which have participated include Liberty Mutual, Sam Swope Auto Group, Prudential, Unified Tech, Your Community Bank, TransAmerica, Western & Southern Life, Windstream Communications, Primerica, ValuLink Technology Solutions, State Farm, Cisco, Total Quality Logistics and Medline.
