METCO Approves Loan for Downtown Building Facade Improvements

One loan in the amount of $50,000 was approved by the Louisville Metropolitan Business Development Corporation during its October board meeting. This loan will leverage an additional $150,690 in private investment, to assist the owner in improving its building, which thereby helps the neighborhood build pride and improve the attractiveness of the retail district.

Garner Narrative, LLC received $50,000 façade loan to renovate a vacant building at 217 S. Clay Street. Owners Joyce and Gordon Garner will use the loan to make façade improvements, in addition to other interior improvements and renovations they are doing. The first floor will be rented as commercial space and the upper floor will be used for residential.
