Officials Break Ground for Expanded River Park Place

Mayor Greg Fischer joined Poe Companies and REI Real Estate for a groundbreaking launching construction of the second phase of RiverPark Place along River Rd. east of Waterfront Park.
The first phase of the project was the 149-boat slip marina completed in May 2012 which has been successful and the second phase, 167-upscale apartment complex, was completed in the first quarter of this year and was one of the fastest lease-ups in Poe Companies’ management history. “WaterSide at RiverPark Place has exceeded all expectations. It leased up faster than any other apartment community in my development experience.” Steve Poe said.
The second phase calls for 162 upscale apartments varying in one, two and three-bedroom sizes with rents from $700-$2000 a month with restaurant and retail space on the ground level and a resort-style entertainment area with two pools, sand volleyball courts, firepit, green space, cookout area and clubhouse. “We look forward to providing both our residents and boaters a resort-style amenity package with spectacular river views.”
“River Road has long been a focal point and a true destination for citizens of Louisville, and now there’s a whole new level of energy and popularity” Mayor Greg Fischer said. “The opening of the Big Four bridge, the new Community Boathouse and the RiverPark Place marina and apartments are all a part of that momentum and surge in quality of life along this iconic corridor.”
The existing apartment building boasts the following features:
· Walk/bike path access into Waterfront Park
· Parking garage beneath the building
· Views of downtown Louisville and the existing marina

· Stainless steel appliances in select units
· 9’ ceilings
· Floor to ceiling windows
· Walk-in closets
· Track lighting
· Private balconies/patios
The proposed addition is on the Waterfront Development Corporation’s agenda for approval today at 4:00. The meeting is to be held at Waterfront’s office.
