Louisville Downtown Management District

The Louisville Downtown Management District is a membership organization responsible for the marketing of the Central Business District - a 104-block area bounded by Hancock to Ninth Streets, and York Street to the Ohio River.

Its mission is to develop and implement programs that strengthen, retain and attract business. Since its inception, LDMD has assisted its members with finding and brokering office space, making critical investment decisions, conducting market studies for retail and service businesses, and investigating new development opportunities.

Businesses with an interest in locating in the Central Business District can contact LDMD and study current data of available properties.

LDMD's Streetscape Program is an integral part of its overall strategy to market downtown Louisville as an easy-to-use, enjoyable place to experience. It includes a unified pedestrian signage system, informational kiosks strategically placed through downtown, and newspaper corrals and garbage receptacles.

The services are designed to enhance the physical environment of the downtown, including improvements for better security, maintenance, cleanliness, and marketing. This concept has become an essential tool for the economic development of downtown areas.
