A Profile of the Foreign-born in the Louisville Metropolitan Area
The Urban Institute in Washington D.C. was commissioned to produce "A Profile of the Foreign-born in the Louisville Metropolitan Area". This Study of the International dimensions of Louisville is intended to help policy makers, local officials and service providers better understand the size, characteristics and needs of the regions immigrant population. Immigrants are a growing and important element of the Louisville community and the local economy and workforce. The report outlines the demographic characteristics, strengths, assets and service needs of the diverse communities of immigrants living in Louisville. The report also includes recommendations that we as a city need to implement in order to help our immigrants become better educated and have better access to services, which in turn will greatly benefit the city as a whole.
Support for this report was provided through a partnership between the Louisville Metro Office for International Affairs and Americana Community Center with funding provided by the Annie E Casey foundation, C.E & S. Foundation, Kentuckiana Works and Greater Louisville Inc.
