HVAC - Mechanical Permit Required
Any owner or authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, remodel or change the occupancy of a building, or to erect, install, enlarge, alter, repair, remove, convert or replace any mechanical system the installation of which is regulated by the Kentucky Building Code, or to cause any such work to be done, shall first make application to the building official and obtain the required permit.
HVAC-Mechanical permits include:
- HVAC - Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning
- Manufactured Fireplaces
- Mechanical Refrigeration
- Range Hood
Inspections Required
Construction or work for which a permit is required shall be subject to inspection by the building official and such construction or work shall remain accessible and exposed for inspection purposes until approved.
For HVAC-Mechanical Permits the most common inspections are Rough-in and Final. Some types of work only require a Final inspection. All appropriate inspections are required to be completed prior to issuance of Final Approval.
