PARADES / WALKS / RACES / RALLIES / PUBLIC GATHERINGS
Anyone who wants to host a parade, walk, road or foot race, rally or public gathering in Louisville Metro
that will be held in a public venue or that will affect public property or right-of-ways must file a Special
Event Permit Application with the Louisville Metro Codes and Regulations Department/Permits and
Licenses Division. A Site Map defining the event area and all public areas and right-of-ways that will be
affected by the event must be attached to the Special Event Permit application.
Any walk/race that goes through, or is held in a park, requires a permit issued by Metro Parks.

PRODUCTION AND FILMING
A permit is required to do any commercial or movie filming in the Louisville Metro Area. There is a small
non refundable fee as an effort to maintain filming records for Metro Louisville.
When filming in Louisville we suggest the following:
● Obtain a film permit.
● When filming in a business or residential area, give proper notification before production.
● Do not trespass.
● Removing, trimming or cutting vegetation or trees is prohibited unless approved by the property owner
or Metro government.
● Please keep all noise levels as low as possible.
● All sets and props should be removed after use.
