General Navigation Tips:
To move around the city, use the navigation tool , at the top left of the screen. Click and hold the direction you wish to go.
You may also move around the city using the Pan tool: at the top right of the screen.
Click the icon, then click on the map and drag.
To zoom into an area, use the zoom tool . Once you zoom in, hover your cursor over an icon to see more details about the project.
Mapping applications undergo maintenance daily from 2AM - 4AM. If you are having trouble with the application during this time, please try back later.

Hey, it can't find my street!
After entering a street address, the options to select from list streets with similar names but not the one I entered.
Example: Entered 4307 Brownsboro Glen. Options include addresses on Brownsboro Road.
Solution: Try entering the exact name of the street: "4307 Brownsboro Glen Road".
Why: We've set the application to find addresses automatically - based upon a percent match - often referred to as a "threshold". Most of the time, that works to your advantage. Sometimes, not so much.
Here are some tips to help locate an address:
- Always include the complete address. Good: 120 W. Main St, Bad: 120 Main. Many streets in Louisville Metro are uniquely identified by their direction. The address processor must know whether you are looking for West Main St. or East Main St. If you leave out the street direction you may not get the results you want.
- Using street type abbreviations is fine. There is no need to type out “Street”. “St” will work just fine. Other common street types include, Rd, Trl, Cir, Blvd, Way, Ln, & Dr.
- It helps to include the 5 digit ZIP code but is not critical.
- There is no need to enter apartment or unit numbers. Just the primary address of the property.
- To search for intersections, use the ampersand (&), not the word "and."
In the event that the address you are looking for is not found, there are a couple of possibilities. One: the location address is very new and has not yet been entered into the system, or two: the address does exist in the system but something in the format of the address you entered is incorrect or incompatible with the address locator. If you believe that your address is missing, please call MetroCall at 311 and ask for an address verification. MetroCall staff will work with MetroSafe to verify the address and a call taker will follow up with you once a determination has been made.
OK, it found my address but I don't see my street!
You entered an address and you can see the pushpin at that address on the map but you don't see the street and/or the parcel. What is going on? Addresses for recently constructed roads or subdivisions are usually entered before construction. In some cases the street or parcel in question may not show up on the map until there is a map update. This could be up to six months.
Why does it take so long to load?
Yeah, we don't like that either. We're working on the performance of the application.
How can I zoom in to see more detail?
Use the magnifying + glass, found at the top right of the map, to zoom in. Simply point your mouse to the place of interest on the map and click to zoom incrementally, or hold the left mouse button, and drag a box around the area you are interested in. The closer you zoom in, the more detail you will see.
Why are parcels and house numbers greyed out?
Because there are several hundred thousand parcels and house numbers, they can only be turned on when you are zoomed in to a level where no more than a few city blocks appear on the map. Once you zoom in far enough you will be able to check them on.
