About EMA-MetroSafe
EMA/MetroSafe is a young public safety agency. September 12, 2005 is our official birth date! We took a phased approach to our creation from consolidating 9-1-1 public safety answering points to building a 12-site 800 MHz radio system – creating a one stop for 9-1-1 call handling, emergency communications dispatching and coordinating Emergency Management functions!
EMA/MetroSafe provides public information and referral as well through MetroCall 3-1-1 services answering questions and documenting citizen concerns. MetroCall 3-1-1 became part of EMA/MetroSafe in 2009 in an effort to provide seamless service consolidating public service and public safety into one agency. In addition, EMA/MetroSafe is comprised of the supporting departments of 9-1-1 addressing, National Crime Information Center (NCIC), Communication Services and Communications Training. All of EMA/MetroSafe works diligently to provide quality and efficient services to all of Louisville Metro – both the public and public safety entities. We encourage you to take a look at our agency. We’re just a click away!
