About US

Louisvilleky.gov/recovery was created in response to the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, the federal economic stimulus bill. The Recovery Act challenges federal, state and local governments to show how Recovery Act dollars are being used in an effort to increase transparency and accountability.

Louisvilleky.gov/recovery helps taxpayers understand how Recovery Act dollars are being spent in Louisville/Jefferson County. The website is managed by the Louisville at Work team, the team formed by Mayor Jerry E. Abramson to ensure that our community fully benefits from the ARRA. The Louisville at Work team consists of a Leadership Team and “Work Teams” organized by the following categories:

Education
Transportation & Infrastructure
Public and Affordable Housing
Economic Development & Energy Efficiency
Health and Wellness
Water and Flood Protection
Public Protection
Social Services & Homelessness Prevention
Workforce Training
Arts & Faith-Based Groups

Work Teams identify funding opportunities made available by the Recovery Act and perform the hard work necessary to secure Recovery Act dollars, spend those dollars wisely and report on the use of those funds. The Leadership Team works with each Work Team, Non-Profits, private industry, elected officials and the public on the administrative issues relating to spending Recovery Act dollars. Louisvilleky.gov/recovery   also captures information on Recovery Act activities in Louisville/Jefferson County that fall outside of the Work Team responsibilities.

Louisvilleky.gov/recovery is still under development and will be updated regularly to include the latest information available on projects, grants announcements, and other funding opportunities.

We hope you find our Web site a valuable resource.
