The graphs below indicate how many jobs were lost or gained each quarter in the past recession per job sector. The jobs sectors were split into Cyclical and Non-Cyclical categories for clarity.

As seen in the above graphs, the Non-Cyclical sectors of the Louisville Economy performed much better than the Cyclical sectors over the past three years, though Professional and Business Services, Manufacturing, and Trade, Transportation and Utilities appear to be rebounding. On the whole, since the Recovery Act was passed in the First Quarter of 2009, the Non-Cyclical sectors have had positive job growth, and job losses are decreasing in the Cyclical sectors.
